Free: Digital Product Passport readiness checklist
A printable PDF for textile exporters. It brings together what the Digital Product Passport is, which data it is expected to require for textiles, who is responsible, and 8 steps you can take before the rules are final. The checklist is in Turkish.
Before the rules are final, the most useful work is getting the data in order today.
- The Digital Product Passport is not yet mandatory for textiles: the EU regulation that will set product-specific requirements is planned for adoption in 2027.
- Much of the data will often come from the manufacturer in Türkiye: fibre composition, test reports, chemical declarations, batch and facility information.
- According to the JRC, the sector’s readiness on the location and concentration of substances of concern is low; this is the work that will take longest.
DPP readiness for textiles, in four sections.
In brief
What DPP stands for, its legal basis, the ESPR regulation (in force since 18 July 2024), and where textiles stand: adoption of the apparel regulation is planned for 2027.
Which data will it hold?
Three layers: the fixed ESPR framework, the Commission’s possible textile categories and the JRC’s May 2026 proposal, from fibre composition to facility identity, in a table you can tick off.
Who is responsible?
The passport duties of the manufacturer, importer, distributor and authorised representative, and what they mean for a Turkish firm producing for an EU brand or selling to the EU under its own brand.
8-step preparation list
From mapping your role to chemical data, from test reports to environmental claims: 8 steps, each with boxes to tick and space for an owner and a date.
